Crew Volunteer – Build Site (no prior experience required)

What you need to know about becoming part of the Crew Team:
- Volunteers are not required to have prior building experience.
- Onsite training is provided by our skilled Crew Leaders.
- All necessary Personal Protective Equipment is available for volunteers.
- Volunteers must be a minimum of 16 years old to build. Anyone under the age of 18 will need a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
- Build site is located at 423 Old Weston Road, near St. Clair Ave, West and is TTC accessible.
- We build 12 months a year, Monday to Friday, shifts are 8 hours, from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Shifts are self-scheduled via online registration.
- Minimum shift is 8 hours, from 8:00 am – 4:00pm- Old Weston Road Build Site, Monday through Friday. Shifts are self-scheduled via online registration.
- Time Commitment: We request a commitment of two shifts per month as part of the Crew program.Build Site Locations:

- 485 Normandy Street, Oshawa
- 25 William Street, Brampton – start date Spring 2024
Position Details:
- Have an interest in the different phases of the construction process that include framing, dry walling, landscaping, insulating, flooring, etc.
- Ability to lift 20-30lbs
- Attend our health, safety, and construction training sessions.
- Assist in providing a safe and healthy working environment such as: use of equipment, personal protective equipment for volunteers, delegating tasks, maintaining a suitable working environment including preparing for weather, cleaning, tasks, etc.
- Come with a willingness to learn from experienced staff and volunteers. A positive attitude, enthusiasm, flexibility and a sense of humour are always key! Tasks are not always glamourous, so be prepared to do a variety of things.
