Women have to work an extra two years, compared to men, to afford retirement
For many women, working nine to five doesn’t guarantee they’ll make a living large enough to carry them through retirement.
That’s because while the gender pay gap means Canadian women on average earn less than men throughout their entire careers, it widens into a chasm by retirement — leaving senior women vulnerable to falling into poverty.
